Tisza x FlyingObjects
We are proud to present one of our favorite projects from the summer, created in collaboration between the Autistic Art Foundation and our brand ????
The patterns of the limited-edition swim shorts are based on the works of two autistic artists, Kristóf Zana and Kristóf Réti. The mission of the Autistic Art Foundation is to support residential homes for young people with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum conditions who are unable, or only partially able, to live independently, and to help provide them with dignified living conditions.
Beyond this, art, design, and charity are closely intertwined with the Foundation’s work. Through their 12-year-old art program, they strive to showcase and support artists living with autism who possess extraordinary visual expression skills but whose work might never be seen by the world without the Foundation’s support.
The two young artists whose works appeared on last year’s Tisza shorts are both severely affected by autism and are non-verbal. They live in a supported residential home in Miskolc run by the Foundation and have been active participants in its specially developed art program for years.
With a portion of the proceeds from the “Portuguese” and “Giraffe” swim shorts, we aim not only to support these residential homes but also to contribute to more open and honest conversations about autism and its acceptance in society.
A QR code has also been placed on the back pocket of the products. By scanning it with your phone’s camera, you are directed to the Foundation’s website, where you can make a donation in just a few clicks using your bank card.
